What is the vulva?
The outside of the female genitalia, comprising the small and large lips, the pubic heel, vaginal vestibule, foreskin of the clitoris, clitoris and vestibular glands.
What are vulvar diseases?
Several diseases may have their first manifestation in the vulva, such as syphilis, HPV, lymphogranuloma, herpes and other STDs. Dermatological diseases such as vitiligo, psoriasis, melanoma and others. Systemic and some autoimmune diseases may give the first sign on the vulva as Behçet’s syndrome.

What is the menopausal transition?
It is a period of physiological changes that lasts from 4 to 7 years and occurs as women approach the end of the reproductive phase, around 47 years of age. The last menses occurs around the age of 50 in most women, when levels of ovarian hormones drop drastically. In the 21st century, with increasing longevity, many women will live more than 30 years of their lives in menopause.
